Well, this is absolutely needed (the CD version), and I'll point the reasons why (this all applies to the DVD version) :
- No DOSBOX = no widescreen support (only for the movies). You don't get to "stretch" the screen to the sides when using modern HD Tv's/monitors
- No windowed mode: Whatever the reason, you can't play windowed mode on this version. I know I mentioned fullscreen above, but the reason for windowed mode is...
- No Xpadder support: Xpadder needs to be "active" to work. Minimized to the taskbar and system tray SIMPLY doesn't work, and since you can't alt+TAB out of the game since windowed is a negative.
- No subtitles in the movies: And even if you want the HQ movies (without subtitles), you can add them to the "DOS" (CD) version (I guess...).
Anyway, you guys at GOG MUST FIX THIS!
