How do I enable the cheats in WC 1 &2?

The old way in dos was to launch with Origin -k command i believe but there is no way to do this (from what i can see) with the new gog version.

To cheat in Wing commander 1, find the dosboxWC.conf file in your install directory and edit the file in notepad.

change the next to last line
from this: loadfix -1 wc
to this: loadfix -1 WC Origin -k

Viola you are now invincible and free to use cheats!

I just got this game recently and haven't gotten to WC2 yet but the command should be similar.

A quick warning, at least for WC2: Do not use the Destroy cheat on capital ships. It'll cause the game to lock up.

I'm guessing this is very out of date as the dosboxwc.conf file no longer has a line saying loadfix -1 wc

(edit) ok nevermind, its now the dosboxwc_single.conf file

I may be a little late but I have tried these for both WC 1 and WC 2 and they seem to work.

Dear god I want to thank everyone in this thread.
For some reason at a certain mission in WC1 (Dakota System) the enemies immediately shoot down the transport I'm supposed to protect the moment I fly into the system, so I can't proceed.

Now with the cheats if I'm quick I can remotely destroy some/all of the enemies before it happens.

Sometimes cheats help finish the game.. Thanks!
