thats all i get. a black screen on my win7 64bit, 560ti latest whql drivers, machine.

surely this game works properly?

ive tried replacing the mpeg2.dll in another thread. did jack.

if i press escape whilst the black screen is present, i get some text top and bottom about 'help him out' etc. clicking either just crashes the game.

no audio, no video, no config utility in sight. money back?

installed latest ac3filter
and latest cccp

now i get audio at the start, but no video.

I'm uninstalling this until they fix it. they still are ignoring the tech support request I put in.

I would suggest trying a different video pack. Uninstall CCCP and try just unzipping http://www.si-gamer.net/gulikoza/bin/mpeg2dec.zip into your wc4 directory. Then run register.bat. if it doesn't work after the first time try running register.bat several more times.... I've heard of people needing to run it up to eight times even.

There's a more complicated direct route to settting Mpeg decoder priority in windows but that *should* do the trick

the WC4DVD.EXE Runs, my screen goes black like it is trying to play the video, but it freezes there. I've done everything you've mentioned here and it's still not working.

firewall is off, (cant uninstall windows firewall
AV was uninstalled (how is this a "fix" when my computer is now unsecure?)
Ive tried K-lite, then CCCP, then Mpeg2Filter

I've adjusted every possible option in the compatibility mode tab.
AND I've run the register.bat download until I am now ready to say to heck with it completely!
NOTHING WORKS.

that is the solution for me. i ran the register.bat as administrator and i get video now.

but im going to leave the question without a solution because thome313 is having the same problem.
