So, here's my problem: I started playing WC3 about 1.5 Wekks ago, at the Weekend. Then I was gone for a Conference until last Saturday. I played somethign else until today and nwo I wanted to pick up WC3 where I left off.
But for some reason or other, all my saves are gone. Vanished. The duty log off the in-game main terminal is just empty and I can't find any folder with savegames.

The strange thing was when I started I had to go through the Joystick and Graphics Set-Up routine again for some reason. I did that but I had no sound whatsoever. So i went back to the settings and corrected that (works now), just to see that my saves are gone.

I switched of all power to my PC for the week I was gone, but I hardly think that has anything to do with it?

Check if you installed the game in a protected directory and perhaps install and run the game as administrator.
Other than that it might be overly paranoid anti-virus software.

I realize this reply may be coming a bit late, but I ran into a similar issue once after running the config program. Somehow I accidentally hit something that changed the save directory from "C:\" to "C:\WC3\", causing the game to look for my save files in the wrong location. I ran config again and changed the save directory back to "C:\" and the missing save games reappeared. Hope this helps.
