Hi there,
so after the ground mission on disc 3 where you have to free the scientist, the game closes after I use the autopilot on the Nav Point with the tanks on the ground (Nav3 I think). I just wanna play on :(

Hello,

I have exaclty the same problem. The Game and Dosbox just close without an error message. I tried some different settings for the Dosbox but it didnt help. I also tried to use Doxbox 0.74 instead of the supplied 0.73, but still no difference.

I have Win 7 Ultimate 64Bit.

I've done the same. :/ Maybe it's a 64Bit problem? I've written an e-mail to gog support. Hope theres a fix for this gamebreaking bug.
We were able to play through the whole game and our QA guys said they haven't experienced any crashes during this mission, let alone repeatable ones.

Lyander and holgerspecht, please create support tickets about this problem and send us your DXDiag.txt files.

Do you have either Intel integrated graphics, or notebooks with mobile nVidia graphics and an i3/i5/i7 processor?
I have not run into this bug, but I will note that this is where the Disc 3 to Disc 4 switch is supposed to happen.
Gog support replied to my ticket and i have send them a save game.

So...I was able to complete the mission now :)
On Nav 2, after you destroyed the enemy ships, DON´T use the autopilot. Instead, search for some tanks on the ground nearby. You can´t lock on to them, but your radar shows them as yellow spots. Destroy them too, then autopilot to Nav 3 and destroy the tanks there. You should get the "mission accomplished.
I was able to return to space after that.

BTW, I´m also on win7 64 bit

This! Thank you :D
Hi guys,

I got the same problem in this ground mission. First Nav-Point toasted all ships, next the same, third one is empty, fourth ine toasted the tanks and the building auto-piloted to the next and then WC3 quit.
However there is the following Error-Message in the DOS-BOX:

"Message index 1214972 is out of range
This error is probably the result of a bad CD-ROM read. Please try running the game again from your latest save game and the problem should go away. If the problem persists, you may have a bad CD. If you continue to have trouble, please call Origin Customer Service for more information"

I googled for this error message and found the following help in the Origin WC3 Help file:

"[4.10] Message index 1214972 is out of range

This error message happens on mission LG04 (last mission in the Alcor
system, the terrain mission rescuing Dr. Severin) right before the
ascent from the planet after you have rescued him if you are using
FRENCH or GERMAN sub-titles. Simply switch the subtitles to ENGLISH
or turn subtitles OFF before flying the mission. Once past this mission,
you can switch the sub-titles back to FRENCH or GERMAN."

So it is an original bug in the WC3.
I tested this hint on my WC3, it´s working, but it is really important that you switch the language onboard of the victory BEFORE the mission, I tried the switch the subtitles off in-flight just before the ground mission, this does not help.
Hope this help you guys!

edit: just tried it with subtitles turned off: not working, game still crashes when closing up to nav 4

edit2: had to turn off subtitles AND switch to english. now I get back to the victory safely.
