It's using dosbox so Mac should be coming. TeT, or was it G-Doc, said to expect a number of classic dos games for Mac soon. Given that this was just released it may not be a part of them.

This game is lagging video and audio. I just bought it from GOG and cannot get past the opening because of this lag. I am using it as it came and using a new Asus ROG computer with an Nvidia card. This game should not be giving me issues on this machine. How do I defeat this problem?

Try the Privateer 2 Unofficial Patch.
