Too bad that nobody has done something for this series like was done with Descent/Descent II.

Does not scale up too well on today's monitors.

Thought that it might be more entertaining than it turned out to be :/ Oh well, good thing it was on sale.

It still plays the same as it did back in the 90s, which is what retro-gaming is all about.
Well, yes and no.

I played WC2, WC3, and WC Prophecy back in the day.

I don't recall the graphics looking that... odd. And, yes, I have played games like Starflight (great game btw).

Also, the craft feels rather sluggish compared to what I remember. Wonder if that's a side effect of running it on a modern system; i.e. similar to what Starflight would do on more advanced systems where the "AI" units moved much faster.

Just not a particularly enjoyable replay of the series. Would be great if somebody did a WC "rebirth" though.
DOSbox has never been a truly good emulator.
Speed problems, Screen Teering problems (yes I enabled triple buffering)
I can´t really understand how games like Quake 1 run better than Wing Commander 1
but its the only thing that we have
Do you mean odd looking by 'stretched'? As in 4:3 being stretched across 16:9 or 16:10?
