"Die by the very weapons you adore"

That line, makes me chuckle, because I don't adore the weapons, I just use them.
It reminds me of what religious people say today to/about non-religious, that is, if you do not believe in God then you worship yourself.

Recently I did a mission in Righteous fire, where funnily enough the retros are against scientific progress, and everyone knows about the inquisition etc.

Funny stuff. :)

Official term is "The Church of Man". They are some mix of , extreme ecologist and religious fanatics. Retros is a term given by fictional writer Hunter Toth in his book "Prometheus Unplugged" and The Church of Man has marked him for death because of it (see: 1st mission for Masterson). This situation is like Muslims and [url=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salman_Rushdie]Salman Rushdie (even picture of Hunter Toth in com-link is similar).

That makes sense. Thanks.
Yeah, I see now in the manual and wikipedia that their religion is "Church of Man" that's against technology.

Did you read manual? There is short story "The Frontiersman: Interview with a Privateer" in which Retros are described as bark-eating, anti-urban, anti-stellar, neo-pagan, hypocritical, knowledge-destroying fanatics.
No I didn't read the manual. I should, I know.
