Same here with Avira, finds TR/Crypt.EPACK.3716 inside prophecy.exe; I'd say its a false alarm, but I'll wait for an official statement.

It is. Submit the file to your AV vendor and wait. Otherwise, make an exclusion.

Just tried to install it using GoG Galaxy 1.1.5, and Avast is still barking in 2016 ...

When I launch the game I get the message saying, can't decide which GL DLL to use. Anyone else have this problem?

the exe file to run this game WC5.exe(I recall haven't played or downloaded in over 2 years) was also detected by Hitman Pro. I would say it is a false EXCEPT for the fact that when I did delete the exe file my Ethernet card dropped out and the driver disappeeard I recall rebooting windows and the CAB file replaced the driver HOWEVER I recreated the problem. I reinstalled WC5 with the exe in tact I deleted the exe and my Ethernet dropped out. this is NOT a coincidence! it is a malware of some sort and not just some detected problem. I wish gog would address this issue I want to play WC 5 too! I have it on my DSi Gameboy LOL and am in the mood to play the full video and sound PC version. but alas, until this file is replaced in my(and your) inventory here(for both download and galaxy instraller) I won't be playing it. :( this need looking into, if you go to hitman pro's virus reports, you wlill find various people some claiming it is just "wingcommander's executable. and some that say it will defile your drivers, and it does corrupt my drivers, I have mainly had problem with Ethernet, what happens is random. this is not a FP, I don't know what it is and why it is on gog's site but it needs looking into by admin.

There is no WC5.exe in the GOG package; the executable file for the game is 'prophecy.exe' and it is, of course, clean

I'm not sure where you got that executable, but it's not part of the installation
