Just installed Wing Commander 1 and I cannot use my joystick buttons. Everytime I use a button it shuts the game down. I am able to move around with the joystick no problem. Just the firing of any button shuts dos box down. Running on Windows Vista with a Logitech extreme 3d pro. Thanks

Figured out that I cannot run dos box in a window and use the joystick. Unfortunately I cannot run the game in fullscreen dos, because the game is so choppy. The joystick works with the buttons, but the game is impossible to play. Tried the control f11 and f12. This does speed up the game and slow it down, but does not affect the constant pauses the game makes. Any help would be appreciated.

Try changing the render to openglnb.

Do I add that to the dosboxwc after frameskip, aspect, or scaler?

No scaler and set the full screen resolution as the same for the desktop, aspect set to true.
No frameskip.
Also set the joystick type to FCS and see if it works better with "timed" true or false, just in case.

This is what I have, but still nothing working correctly in dosbox. The game is extremely choppy, but is able to use the joystick or I put the dosbox in a window make it fullscreen and cannot use the buttons on the joystick or it shuts down dosbox.

This holds true for WC2 as well.
