I have the DOS versions of WC3 and WC4, and I'm interested on how the GOG version compares to them. Is the GOG version the one from the Kilrathi Saga which plays on Windows, or will I still need to use DOSbox?

WC 3 is the DOS version, however WC4 is the WIN (dvd) version, ofcourse the dos games all come with every thing you need to make them run, so you don't need to download dosbox your self.

This is true for all gog games that run on dod, however for somethings you may need to use dosbox seperatly to get them to run, such as the pilot transfer system for WC 1.

Move the command to actually run the game to a .bat file, and you should boot into DOSBox and the WC directory. If you want to run the game, just type the name of the .bat file and hit enter.

This way, you have DOSBox configured for the game, and can run the utilities in the game folder.
