I have GOG version of privateer and abandonware version of righteous fire.

Applying the method didn''t work until i figured to add in the rf.cfg
=D:priv.tre
in addition to the =D:rf.tre

Also the righteous fire TRE wasn't named "rf.tre" but "prso.tre" so I renamed it.

Then it worked aside that for some reason I can't have the new speeches, which appear in subtitles while old speeches from privateer are heard perfectly with no subtitles under righteous fire, strange isn't it? It isn't a soundcard problem as I have music

I'll also let everyone know that 7zip failed to uncompress PSFONTS.INF from game.gog so i used some workaround to recreate the ISO completely.

Hope that helps people that didn't manage to get Righteous Fire to work with normal method above

The Electronic Arts Classic CD version has a file named rf.tre (72MB), and includes full speech

The best games for me that are coming to gog I already own, and in this case its sad that they can only offer cut down stuff (I would love to play through an complete wc2, I didnt buy the classic CD when it was released , damn it was only 30 Deutschmarks then)
(never mind)

Is there anyway to REMOVE Righteous Fire? I never did like the xpansion.
Please advise.

Righteous Fire is launched separately so does not affect the original game's story or content (as far as I know). The installer doesn't give the option of deselecting Righteous Fire but you could just delete its shortcut to hide it.

--I was hoping of deleting the content with those Retros... I cant stand them. It ruins the game for me lol
The retros are part of the original game even back to the floppy version. There is no way to 'delete' them. If you don't want to play with the retro Righteous Fire missions, don't play Righteous Fire, its that simple.

Oh thats right. Its been a long time. I forgot that they were part of the original game.
Installed from my disk back then both were installed. Righteous Fire became accessible after completing the first game.

Just bought and installed the GOG Privateer and many things do not work. Most notable is the mouse will not work if the joystick is plugged in.
Can I replace GOGs version with mine the way mentioned here for RF?

Privateer defaults to joystick mode if one is connected. Change the control mode in the options (Alt+O).

I have just bought Installed the Gog Privateer, and found a lot is not right, no mouse , I don't have a Joystick, so I have to use the Keyboard Keys, then there is no Save, and I cannot raise the "Game Computer to save ,
The best thing about It is your new Drawings of Ships! Shame really, I'm over Seventy now and have played this
since 1993, and my CD is worn out completely, Can I possibly get some help please!

I used to do a lot of Programing for others or myself, but after three recent Strokes I'm as useless as "Tits on a Bull"
and need being led by the Hand, and It take me a lot to admit this!

Mouse spaceflight is set in Options (Alt+O). Note that this setting is not remembered between sessions so you will have to set it again every time you launch the game.

Saving can be done from the Personal Computer (C) but only when landed at a base; you can't access the PC during spaceflight.

EDIT: if you're playing on Mac OS X note that some keyboard commands differ slightly on Apple keyboards (e.g. using Option in place of Alt); you may be prompted to add the game to the OS X Accessibility settings which helps ensure in-game key combinations are not being overridden by the operating system.

I am trying to play the righteous fire expansion and cannot get past the part where it wants you to load a previous Privateer ship. I have played and beaten the original Privateer game and have several saved games to choose from, but the expansion won't let me get passed the computer terminal. I pushed every button and nothing happened

When it asks the first question push Y on your keyboard (or N if you want to start Righteous Fire with a new character). After that the in-game buttons work as expected.
