Wow it's been a while since I played Windforge, but that's some really great stuff!

But I hate to say it, but your mod isn't the first. I don't blame you for assuming, my mod never attracted much attention, and was over on the Steam Forums. Glad to see someone else got into modding!

Is the helium bottle an equippable? That's a really neat item :)

I'm very curious how you made the adamantium and titanium grinders, do they have increased power/range?

Helium bottles you just carry in your inventory, and they give a negative weight (or rather, make your total load weigh less). Takes a lot of them to abuse the system. Although since you can drop a chest at any time in order to access your bulk inventory, it isn't really anything you can't do otherwise.


The grinders are rather simple, they have a different name in the recipes and in the database. Based on the differences in weight from weapons and other related items, as well as damage output and upgraded levels (Quality and Master), I just wrote in their entries accordingly. Making a big ship with adamantium grinders though take A LOT to lift in the air, and are slow due to their mass though, and almost not worth it.

Power and range, no different, mostly because I'm not sure how, although the bitmaps that show the configuration suggest what the 1-7's mean. As for power, a regular grinder uses like 0.1 or 0.01, so they use no more power really, although if they did it is so insignificant it doesn't matter.

I do need to update my mod since I added stuff, and took stuff away for recipes (mostly bulk ones that don't work well with multiple item choices).

* Repair tool at higher qualities increases in effectiveness (Sorry, disassemble tool didn't improve at all)
* Building materials, refining, and bulk items added or changed to x5/x10 (recipes with more than one ingredient was skipped out, sorry :(, might still be a few left )
* Iron/Titanium/Adimantium blocks/backgrounds can be converted back to ingots.
* Added recipe/item Helium in a bottle (has -1 weight)
* Feral bosses can be tamed (was in the python extractor, so it's here)
* Side quest Temples now named instead of only numbered.
* Side quest with Lars (and the hunting rifle) has added hint.
* new ships (simply for flavor/variety, not very practical mostly)
* Mantis meat (Was commented out in the loot list, simply added it back in)
I'm playing Windforge again and stumbled upon this while looking for mods - unfortunately, it looks like that link is dead now. Is there any chance you could re-upload that (or a newer version you mentioned having in your most recent post)?

There are barely any mods for this game so I would like to give it a try.

rtcvb32 is currently on a tempban on the forum, so he can't reply to you directly. But he is aware of your post.

Here's his message: "i'll try to get that mod and put it where it's accessible. although i'd have to get the newest version of Windforge and do a diff to see what i would have to modify to make it work"

His tempban may take a while to expire, but I think you can get in touch with him directly via the PM system (you may have to change your privacy settings for that).

Hi, thanks for responding and letting me know what's going on with that, and providing that link. I'll try to get in touch with rtcvb32 through PMs like you suggested to talk more about the mod. I've actually started working on my own mod that's a bit bigger in scope since making that post, and I've been looking for advice on some things. I've attached a preview of some of what I've done.

Because i don't like the profile thing here. It's annoying also getting constant notifications of 'JoeSmoe is playing Don't Starve' totally irrelevant information i don't care about. disabling the profile is the easiest way to shut that all up.

Not that long ago someone ALSO wanted it. And i reuploaded the mod and he thankfully put the link up while i had technical difficulties with GoG. *points to post 20*

Well, i more or less finished what i was doing, AdmiralNaismith was doing some stuff too. Finding some limitations to the system, etc.

Not aware of any major content mods. Were i an artist i'd have probably done a few additions. You could add a whole new chapter/story arc easily enough, just not sure where it should go...

Plus once you get 100 in all stats and the best weapons/armor... well... it would take an entirely different kind of adventure to keep you busy.

What other kind of things are you working on? I had the thought whilst looking at your ship and cool turrets that there needed to be a chest /item that sucks up items.

Like a massive magnet or a special stash that absorbs nearby items.

I also think an item that autorepairs an area around it or hiring crew would be nice, but that's outside the scope of what's available in the game based on what the engine allows.

Unfortunate the links died, happens i suppose with free website services who want you to confirm you still want it every 3-6 months and you don't get the email :(

Anyways, updated links that should (i hope?) stay.

Also on steam mod's page i posted the same link for the old 8820 and 9826 versions.

And yes you have permission to share said files and resources. The 8820 also includes the wf_extract tool, though newer versions of WindForge don't require you to remove the BIG file anymore so you don't need to extract every file to make it work.
