rtcvb32: Well if they don't provide a patch/update soon, then when I see a newer (cracked) steam version I'll get that. (It's not like I don't already have the game :P)

Raven33: Steam version for a dolar right now on indie gala breath of wind bundle if you dont want to wait for an drm-free update
Wouldn't that defeat the point of being here?

you are right and it seems there is no real change in performance of the game. Lets just hope that some larger performance patch gets uploaded here.
Right then. Now that the patch is here, a few thoughts:

Enemy balance is still broken. While it is interesting to see a NPC ship shoot at an attacker despite the fact that you took out one of its balloons with a propeller in hopes of making an easy raid, finding oneself swarmed by a large basilisk and a medium basilisk while dealing with core outspill from above is...stupid. Not only does the game slowdown quite impressively, but considering the attack power of these beasts and how they cling to your ship often better than you can, such an attack would mean curtains, if you happen to be trapped in an 'indoor' area.

Whales are still overly aggressive.

Item shops are still blind bags of mostly stuff that isn't necessarily readily better than what you've got, still no red/green text, and no stats in crafting to tell you if something is worth making.

And yeah, the physics engine still seems to break in places with you freezing in place for a moment before either falling to your death from a two foot jump or shooting off.

Corpse physics are still hilarious, procedural buildings are still mazes of 'WTH built this thing?'

And still no splash screen? You plan to make this game multiplayer with no way to tell if its working?

Do other airships have magic teleporters or is that just the lousy spawning system making a trapped ship vanish?

Hello sir. I have 160 HP. Allow me to unload the thundering blast of a TWO BARREL SHOTGUN at point blank into your flesh. You're still standing, yet you could put me down easily with a few bursts from your gun. Something is wrong here. You appear to have somewhere in the range of more HP than I ever hope to have.

I didn't get an update notification, instead I just happened to look at the game and saw the current patch. For a moment I thought perhaps we somehow missed it the last month....

So...

New ship types to fight are nice. It doesn't really change my strategy: I board it, shoot them, strip the ship and leave... A few new items of high value (barrels of oil, that is if i didn't already have $730k or more).

Not sure i can give the full patch/balance a review since i would have to start a new game and well... i don't feel like spending that much time going through everything a second time. (3 days was too much)

As for ships and monsters, if you ignore them for something like 20 seconds they disappear regardless how close/far away they were. Spawning/unspawning seems to follow this overall.

As for losing ships, try adding a spare zeppelin balloon to a ship (or any balloon), i've seen a ship i thought i was going to gut and lost due to falling through the screen was still there when i returned. Probably when you add something of your own to it, it no longer disappears on screen change.

Also as for the random houses... Too many of them are the same (between two different games). This means the world was procedurally generated at one time, than modified (probably to add caves, interiors, pots, etc). I'm guessing they are all pregenerated and randomly placed during a new game. However there's enough areas that you are unlikely to explore them all completely.

edit: WTF!! I go and hunt the really giant Kraken and they don't leave a body behind! They are like phantoms! I consider that a huge bug!!! I wanna hunt giant Squid!!!!
