Well first I'll say I enjoyed the game, kept me occupied the last 3 days... Playing version 1.0.8312.0

Let's see, Bugs:
1) When adding to a ship (while docked) blocks aren't recognized and you can fall right through them. (Most notable when there isn't anything new under it to land on, so built over open air). You have to save and reload for it to register (or fly it?)
2) Sometimes after putting stuff into storage, still slowed down and 'encumbered' until I pick something up.
3) When Scrapping/deleting a ship sometimes I have to do it twice before it actually goes away.
4) Sometimes monsters get stuck in walls...
5) When putting items into the inventory it puts ALL items in when you right-click. It should leave 1 behind if you're wearing that clothing type.
6) Blubber background doesn't always get restored after it's been damaged (from repairing).
7) When placing items that sometimes overlap, the overlapped item gets deleted and can't be recovered.

New features I'd like to see:
1) Gut That Ship: basically if you've defeated everyone on a ship and you really just want to gut your newly acquired (and unregistered) ship, I would much prefer a simple click vs manually gutting it. Probably add the button under the examine section. Same thing when you 'scrap' a ship at the yard, far as I can tell the contents are lost rather than put in your inventory/storage. (Although not everyone might want ALL the wood and background wood and background glass, and... But they do sell well...)
2) Multi-threading: Far as I can tell it only uses a single cpu/core, so making use of more would help with the frame rate issues.
3) Better GPU utilization: Mostly in the lower world with gasses everywhere does this become an issue. Oh and more graphical options...
4) Key Rebinding
5) Gamepad support... (WASD is clunky to do movement and jumping..)
6) Larger Repair/Disassemble tool(s): Add it so there are 3 total: 1x1, 3x3, 10x10. Probably add some background placements that are standard sizes (10x10, and 10x1/1x10) which gets converted to their individual after adding.
7) Newgame+ (And maybe harder modes?)
8) When crafting if you have an item storage box nearby, you should be able to access all of it's contents for item making that way. Less back and forth saying 'was that a copper ore I needed or iron ore? Oh I needed sulfer too? Oh and now I see I need rubber, and... '.
9) When crafting and you don't have an item (but you have the items to make that item), which would create the individual item without being forced to swap to a new screen.
10) Tools/Modding support? (Would help with most of the ones below)
11) Full blown ship editor. While docked you should be able to make larger pre-made segments (or make them yourselves) to include rooms, hallways, whole ships, etc. Presets should be at least hallways and backgrounds of each material type, horizontal and vertical solid walls, and a few roof types.
12) Stats to 200 - Gives you something to work towards that only crafted items and elixirs can provide (and you don't start stocking on the now gems you can't use). Naturally new abilities should be present too following the original theme(s).

Wanted features that shouldn't take much work:
1) More ships (types/diversity). I've seen like 6 types total...
2) More items. More things to work towards. For example some daggers that do no block damage (and only to enemies)
3) More enemy/monster types (For the most common encounters anyways).
4) More missions: Specifically the end game... Add more legendary creatures, or respawn them. Random missions for 'get me this'.
5) An option to keep picking everything up even while encumbered (When mining a large area with a whale, I don't want to have to go back to the box every 10 feet to put more rocks in there).
6) Screenshot support!
7) Unlimited range for adding items/blocks while in town/docked. (Building a ship shouldn't be so tedious)
8) On the first quest with Lars, you're told to get a hunting shotgun. Change it to just the shotgun (the 'hunting' reference part only throws you off; The connection is found when using the 'hunting weapon' recipe)
9) Books/hints that can be bought that tell you where other temples are
10) Rename the returning of the various tablets from the side quest from just their tablet number to match the other 'search the xxx temple' format.
11) Recipes to convert extra crap back into it's raw ingredient form. (5x Iron blocks -> 1x iron ingots)
12) Shell, Meat, Blubber, Stone, Dirt and Gravel recipes to make them so they don't crumble to gathering materials when destroyed, rather they can be repaired. (I'd like to make a flying castle from stone!)
13) Make repairing attached to one of the stats (probably Wisdom), so you can repair your stuff faster.
14) Add a Auto-repair object we can craft that It will slowly repair your entire ship even while unattended. Probably 1/s, multiple of them will increase the effect.

edit: Added several more here and there. Also Beat the game and got all the temples (i think); Only recipes/crafting remains and that's moot without anything else to go towards.

I suppose now wouldn't be a good time to point out that GOG doesn't have the latest patch by any stretch and some of those features are actually in later patches?

Including but not limited to more ships, key rebinding, more items, monster hitboxes, and screenshot support of the top of my head from reading this forum post.

Maybe I should find a cracked version of the game from steam with the newest version, I don't enjoy having multiple versions though...

We could message the devs and ask when the update is going to be released...

edit: Only really seeing March 11th... hmmm...

I messaged them yesterday and without a holiday in sight, the whole business day went by without a peep. Not even an acknowledgement. I realize that I should wait longer, but the bar is pretty high for me in terms of support.

Well, keep me posted if there's a reply.

What would you say the reply timeout is, in how long should I wait before giving up?

Hmmm depends on how busy they are. I've gotten replies that took a very long time (with Pixeljunk Shooters) So... 2 weeks is a reasonable timeout period. Course they may not reply in over a month, but if they value feedback and customer service it should be within 3 (business) days.

Well, the bad news is, its already been three days. The good news, it hasn't quite been 2 weeks.

Well if they don't provide a patch/update soon, then when I see a newer (cracked) steam version I'll get that. (It's not like I don't already have the game :P)

So does that mean the other DRM free version is out of date too?

I don't use steam, not anymore. I got sick enough of the DRM and their client.
