I currently have a version 2.0 (yeah...) version of wasteland 2, and is there a way to update that to the lastest 2.4.x version without pulling teeth?

If I just DL the latest version from gog, how do I import the save? Can they even be imported safely or do I need to do a patching process to safely migrate the patches?

Thanks.

I have the same issue, I have 2.0.0.8 installed and do not want to download all 9.8GB just to get to version 2.4.x to apply the new patch. Where can we get the interim patches?
The save games are in a data folder, not where the game is installed (Documents\My Games or something like that for Windows, not sure exactly since I use the Linux version), so you can reinstall and you will not lose your save games.

For patches, you can try the "unsupported semi-official ones" from https://forums.inxile-entertainment.com/viewtopic.php?f=34&t=11081

I have this issue as well. Why the hell would GoG take them out of the library? What sense does that make? Will I really have to download 10GB again just to update the fucking game? This is bullshit, and is the reason I will not purchase any more games from Gog.

Or you could quit whining and read the post just above yours ;)
Cheer up: you don’t need to download the full game to get it up to date!

I would like to know why gog doesn't hold the interim patches, I personally do not want to try and use unsupported patches for a game i have via gog?

I do totally agree with your request here, and I think GOG is missing something by providing only the patch for "last version - 1" -> "last version". They assume people will always have downloaded "last version - 1", which is probably not true in a lot of cases.

But I also think you should trust these "unofficial" patches. Actually they’re done by tonurics, who is inXile Entertainment "Linux guy", a totally official inXile crew member. And they’re tested mostly by myself, a non-official but awfully perfectionist Wasteland 2 hacker ;)
(well, to be honest I test only the Linux patches, not the Windows and Mac OS ones, so any tester for these OS is more than welcome to join us)

For the "unsupported" part, it’s true that there is no official support for these patches, but with tonurics and me you have two people fully dedicated to the development of these patches. Should you report any bug with the patches, I can assure you you shouldn’t have to wait more than a few days (a few hours if you’re lucky) before a fix is pushed online.
I would also like to echo my annoyance of this too, the links pointed to above are for the LINUX version. I have windows and for some reason the game has never been flagged for updates in my account. So I come here and find I have to download 10 gig to get the up to date version.

What happened to the interim patches for Windows?

Annoyed!

Tony.

EDIT: I emailed support and Genoan responded, I hope he doesn't mind me posting these links in his email to me here(I've downloaded them and they work):

Hello

The easiest way would be to download the current, updated installer for the game.

I've the older patches here:
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/106372714/Wasteland_2/patch_wasteland2_2.2.0.11.exe
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/106372714/Wasteland_2/patch_wasteland2_2.3.0.12.exe
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/106372714/Wasteland_2/patch_wasteland2_2.4.0.13.exe
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/106372714/Wasteland_2/patch_wasteland2_2.4.0.14.exe
https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/106372714/Wasteland_2/patch_wasteland2_2.4.0.15.exe
Please try installing the ones you are missing.

Regards
Genoan

Thanks for posting those, but I am still unable to apply the latest patch (doesn't support my current version).

To GoG:
I understand that keeping up all patches may confuse some people as you update the installer to the most current versions, as the patches become redundant, but it's a little ridiculous that someone who may have missed a few patches has to download the entire game again just to update. Remember some people may be on a very limited bandwidth.

Yes it's annoying, on top of those patch links above you need; 2.4.0.16; 2.4.0.17; and 2.4.0.18 to make the game up to date. Patch 2.4.0.16 was available for a little while I believe, 2.4.0.17 (Spanish Localisation fix - patch 5.1) was only available yesterday, and even though I have the English version I STILL needed to apply it otherwise 2.4.0.18 (Patch 6) wouldn't recognise the base game! The way the GOG staff posted you would think it was optional, (only if you have a Spanish version) but that's not the case.

What a mess! Unless you managed to grab those three patches since my links above, you either have to download the complete game again or submit a ticket to support as I did...

I thought it was a little strange that the patch numbers suddenly made a jump from .15 to .18, but thought why would GOG give you an incomplete list of patches to update to the latest one? Now I see you posted that over 20 days ago, so I guess yeah, I did miss out on a few more patches.
It really is strange that they can't just include a folder of optional patches, or at least put them up here in a sticky thread.
Thanks for the help regardless, I'll probably mail support and see if I can dodge the 10gb download.

Well, does anyone else have the 2.4.0.17 (5.1, correct?) patch that they could upload for us? It sucks trying to track each of these down.
I agree, this is insane. I shouldn't have to download the entire game again just because I missed the last (0.17) patch.

I have patch 17 and it is around 4 MB big. But I don`t have a place to upload it to.

Absolutely. In 20 years of gaming this is the worst patch system right after not providing patches at all. It is right now the best reason to NOT buy new games on GOG which is something you would expect them to fix soon. But I had a similar problem month ago with Divinity Original Sin and they did nothing since then.

If you have some time you can contact support and get the old patches. It would be faster to download the entire game though. GOG policy is stupid only showing the latest patch in your shelf. At least they should put all of them in a support article. The idiots who would try to apply the 2nd patch to the latest installer would never find it there.
