entux: where's the linux version of the patch?
The original post says monday.
Only found out about this patch because I decided to "reroll" and so looked on the Inxile forums for info on charcter builds. Reading through this topic I was worried about installing the patch but having read the whole thing all I can say is wow.

Thiev there is no way I can honestly say I would work on solving a problem like this outside of working hours like you have. For that I thank you. I can only hope that someone in the company makes sure that your supervisor/s are informed and that your efforts are acknowledged.

Perhaps you should print out this thread and leave it on your boss's desk just to be sure. :)
What's the story with the Mac Patch? I am new to Mac's so I don't know, but it seems like maybe Mac doesn't get patches, we just re-download the entire game file when GOG updates the version in the dowloader. Is this true? Thanks for clearing this up!
hey guys, whenever i try to patch the game the installer freezes after a short .
Anybody else have the same issues?

Are you both certain it freezes? Patching can take a long time, even up to 10-15+ min
The problem I'm seeing is that if I minimize the window, or run the patch install under another window, or even have the screen saver come on, the patch progress window becomes non-responsive. If I keep it front and center, it seems to go just fine.

Even if it becomes unresponsive, it is still running. Just leave it there for 15-20min and patching process will complete.
Do not kill / cancel the patcher mid-run. Doing so might result in errors next time you try to patch the game.
I tried to start a new game, but when it went to mark a location on my map, the graphics were glitchy. Same with my inventory and when I tried to trade. Loading the game sometimes made everything black except the HUD, but I could still move around, however, trying to enter the world map still crashes every time. One time I loaded it there were question marks over my character portraits. Sometimes the graphics were just fine, but it would still crash when I tried to enter the world map.

so you were right it kept going but it gave me an error in the end.
should i reinstall the game?
Will my saves be fine?
Hello Monday! :)

Today will be a very good day, because it's a day we'll get a patch for the Linux version. Right? :D

Will Linux version of the patch support applying diffs only? Or will I need to redownload the whole game?

Errors were due to the fact, that some files were patched on the first run and thus patcher couldn't find these it was supposed to patch (there were different than what it expected). To be on a safe side and to avoid problems with future updates, you could reinstall the game and then apply the patch (it takes so long, because all main files - ~20GB were changed in the new version).
Saves were unaffected by the update, although it is a good practice to always make a backup just in case.
Could I recommend that your patcher be updated to have some animation so that you can tell it's not frozen? It would save you guys from having to deal with half (at a guess) the problems you encounter because of interrupted patch attempts.

-edit- fixed some goofy grammar.
