As you may (or may not) know, there is a glitch that allows you to get loot bags that contain items that should not be available, like the Red Ryder rifle and items with wierd names like NAME AC or Female.

I am wondering whether any of the following are possible with this glitch:
1. Can the game crash?
2. Can your character's stats be corrupted? (Would be nice if I could get, say, a couple hundred skill points this way.)
3. Can the game be tricked into executing arbitrary code?
A partial answer is better than none, I suppose.

1. Only seen one reference to crashing so far. According to Per Jorner, walkthrough version 1.2:
Taking items from super loot bags may mess up map data, causing other squares to behave strangely. For instance, as discovered by Wild Bill, if you grab some Throwing knives from the Quartz super loot bag, leaving the inn by the main exit will deposit you on the wrong square outside or even toss you out of Quartz entirely. Wild Bill also recalls other incidents related to this: "Once when leaving Fat Freddy's casino I arrived inside Base Cochise, rather than back in Vegas. Had not picked up the Secpass B key yet, so was hopelessly trapped inside Base Cochise by the autosave, with no way out! Once when entering Freddy's office there were no characters present there... no opportunity to accept or decline the offer or just attack. Game was locked up, restarted and tried again... same results." Meanwhile, Brendan had a spooky turn of events in the same location: "I tried to raise Gamble on a slot machine, then suddenly it turned into a doctor's office and I think it only cost $4 to examine. So I went to the next slot machine, it too worked for a while and then did the same thing. Soon all the slot machines were these stupid doctor's offices." Well, it would be spooky if it happened in real life, anyway. Effects can include pretty much anything from stumbling across freak messages or spawning groups of invisible enemies to becoming utterly stuck or crashing the game. If you want to cheat in absolute safety, don't use your regular files or disk images while taking the items, and back up your game beforehand.
2. I haven't spotted any corrupted stats.

2a. Easiest way to get extra skill points is to increase a skill high enough that its cost to increase wraps around to the negatives. Studying at a library with a skill at rank 8 or higher can be a great source of skill points. Interestingly enough, if you have an everlasting gobstopper of cash, gambling is your best and easiest source of such a skill. There's only one table (Acapulco club, I think?) where the check is high enough to always be a challenge.

3. I have no idea.

Ad.1. Yes, it can crash... or block you "in deep dark space"... :>

Ad.2. If you don't want to spend to much time on grinding or just want to enjoy story (like me) then you can edit your characters with WLEDIT:

Download and unpack it. Then run "WLEDIT.html" with your web browser.

255 for every stat, Red Ryder Rifle and Power armor from the very beginning... :>

1. If the game can crash, the question is, what is the game trying to do? In particular, does it ever try to execute a memory address that contains data that can be manipulated (like your stats)? As a side note, is "deep dark space" just being stuck out-of-bounds, or is there more to it? (A screenshot would be welcome here.)

2. I don't want to get rid of grinding time; I am more interested in figuring out how to make the game glich in interesting ways. (Also, is 255 the cap, or is it possible to raise a stat higher? Or does the stat overflow if raised above 255?)

3. Again, if someone can get the game to execute data (like your stats) as code, it may be possible to trick the game into executing arbitrary code, perhaps triggering the ending without having to enter Base Cochise in the first place.

I tried super loot bag exploit and it locked my gameplay when I leaved building. It was dark everywhere except green square whee mu team of Rangers was standing. No possibilities of movement or doing anything.

I tried this exploit to obtain "N armor" (AC 127). WLEDIT can't give it and it occurs exploit can't give it too.

When 255 was set for a stat it was not possible to rise it higher in game (radio communication with Ranger Center).

I don't know. Ask devs on inXile forums.
