gcgamer69: Hi all, I could use some assistance. I have an older laptop, and while I can start Wasteland 2 and get through character creation just fine, as soon as I try to play the game it crashes. I've tried putting display settings to the lowest possible along with windowed mode but it doesn't seem to matter. Here are my main system specs pulled from dxdiag:
System Information
------------------
Operating System: Windows 7 Professional 64-bit (6.1, Build 7601)
System Manufacturer: TOSHIBA
System Model: Satellite A505
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6500 @ 2.10GHz (2 CPUs), ~2.1GHz
Memory: 4096MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 4094MB RAM
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DxDiag Version: 6.01.7601.17514 64bit Unicode
---------------
Display Devices
---------------
Card name: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4650
Display Memory: 2809 MB
Dedicated Memory: 1018 MB
Shared Memory: 1790 MB
I have a feeling it's because I don't have 4gb dedicated VRAM. If so are there any workarounds? I really wanted to support this game but find it frustrating that a game with an isometric top down view like the old fallouts crashes, whereas I can play the Witcher 2 just fine. Keep in mind that I would've asked GoG.com about this but when I attempt to submit a ticket on technical stuff, it just loops me back to the community fix page. I guess after the 3rd time I got the hint that GoG doesn't deal with the technical side of things. Any help or advice would be extremely appreciated.
Check if you have a recent version of the graphics drivers. If that doesn't work, try deactivating the shared graphics memory in the bios setup. Maybe it's eating your system memory.
