Hi,

just installed wasteland but the mouse is not usable at all. The cursor moves but act like an uncalibrated stick with bad threshold.

I'm on win 8.1 and never encountered such behavior on any games or programs ever. It's the same situation with either the trackpad or the wireless mouse.

Any clues on what might be causing this and how to fix it?

Thanks

I just installed it and have the same issue.
Be sure to contact Support.
I'll try with a corded mouse when I'll be back home.
I get the same issue, using corded mouse and Windows 8.1.
I've heard that Windows 8.1 has major mouse issues at the OS level, and that Microsoft plans to release a patch for it.
Tried with compatibility Winxp sp3, win7 win 8, no change. Tried checking the 3rd option display scaling and still the same. Yes, quite probably another form of the Win 8.1 reported mouse issues. Disabling the trackpad changes nothing.

Hope I can get this working ok before wasteland 2 arrives.

It's Working!!

Install Patch and follow description.
Resister Edit & CMD command!!
It's super sensitive in Windows 7 as well. Pressing ALT-Enter to switch to windowed mode makes it usable, but it disables Areo themes and doesn't release control of the mouse.
Mouse doesn't work for me in windows 8.1 either, not with the patch installed as well. Guess i'll try it on my windows 8 home laptop and see where I get with that.
After the same problems I stuck with the keyboard. After learning the commands I didn't have a problem with the change. Its the best I can tell you

I can confirm that installing the patch (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2908279) and adding the registry key as described in the KB article works on Windows 8.1.

Worked for me, as well.
The mouse isn't working for me either, and Windows is insisting that the Windows patch isn't "applicable" for my computer. Yet another reason why updating to Windows 8.1 was definitely not a positive experience...

I might have to fire up an XP VM I keep around for this kind of occasion.
