While playing on Surpreme Jerk Difficulty I just delivered cat litter then got a transmission of a syth attacking a farm. Turns out it's ambush. I have the latest gear you can get up the that point. Still the enemies one shot me, I stand no chance at all. This fight is grossy imbalanced and almost impossible on hardest difficulty. I don't know how to win this one.

A classic one! after this, the next time the guy in the radio say to you " is only a robot" you will be scared (and believe me, is going to happen).

Anyway, the trick is COVER and known which weapon to use. Probably you will be forced to divide your team in 2 or 3 mini squadrons, and deploy your best tactics, anyway, due the auto-saves you can reload a previous game before entering the farm for getting more ammo (and grenades and rocket launchers) or farming XP.

The battle here has lasers and normal weapons, so all the types of armors will be heavily under pressure (lasers will affects high conduit armor like the power armor, the normal weapons will be able to penetrate the light and medium armor), that is why your best items are not working properly, plus the fact that the enemies come from all the direction making hard to take cover (So, first objective is to clean one part of the enemies for getting a properly cover from almost all the directions). If the synth is able to kill your party in one shot means you current XP is too low, if the synth is able to kill you in 3-4 rounds, means you need to take him down quickly OR forced him to waste some rounds reaching your team (meanwhile you are able to clear one part of the enemies for getting a good cover against the synth) .

Another general tactic for this battle, if I remember well, the battle begin once one character approach to the center, so you can placed the party in tactical place, in my case I remember using the first branch and the small building (south of the area).

By the way, the game was balanced ONLY for the normal setting, that is why the description of the jerk setting.

On the topic of armor; is it possible to tell what type of armor an enemy has? So far I've only switched to energy weapons if the enemy is a robot or if my regular shots do little damage.

I'll grind some level's and try again, but I like the challenge so I refuse to return to Normal. But this battle is unlike any other in the game so far, many times harder then any other tough encounter. Thanks again.

I was wondering the same thing, looking at the enemy, I couldn't tell if he was wearing conductive armour or not.

Ok now I know, you need to equip a energy weapon, you should see a light blue shield icon next to the enemy.

I just reached this part and... I'm dying too fast, personally the Supreme Jerk setting with the new weapon balances, is the perfect example why just increasing the %percent of damage from enemies, and reducing yours is a bad idea for increasing difficult.

I can kill the enemies in 2 rounds, but they can kill me in one turn, the laser are equally effective against conductive armor as with non-conductive low armor, which probably is a bug.

Edit:

Ok, done, One suggestion try Head critical and arms attacks, the energy weapons should be able to make 200 - 300 damage to the robot/synth and one sniper could do near other 200, that is in two rounds you can kill him (take note where to put your characters).

the other main problem is a sniper/assault-rifle user in the south that was able to give me 400 of damage (probably due was attacking my light weapon user), is impossible to reach him in one single round (and kill him), so this one is which requires the attack to arms and head (both will reduce his chances to hit).

If you don't has the Liat assault-riffle, you are force to attack the legs of the meele user (mainly the one coming from the north).

And... good luck, because right now I'm very sure that the Synth/robot is bugged with energy attack (is the same power than an Ion cannon but in single round)

Ah, finally got to this bit. Tough it certainly is. I managed to get through it, but I might`ve been lucky. It still took me about 3 tries before I succeeded.

1. Do you have Rose with you? She`s a life saver when it comes to computers. Get her to run and reprogram the first robot that starts shooting. She will easily reprogram it and turn it on the others. That robot gets rid of at least 3 of the attackers giving you breathing room. Any character with max computer skills will do though.

2. When you first walk up try to keep everyone over to the left where most of the cover is. Keep Rose second in the group lead.

3. Someone will probably get shot instantly and be in critical condition. Make sure it`s NOT Rose! Heal the critical guys later.

4. Get as many people in cover as fast as possible and away from enemies with melee weapons- They kill almost in one hit. Get them as far as possible even if they lose a chance to fire.

Of course this all hinges on having Rose to reprogram the 1st Robot with. If you don`t have Rose, go away and explore elsewhere until you get tougher. I suppose having a custom character with high computer skills will just be as good, but it needs to be high like maximum! None of my made characters had computer skills at all so Rose is essential in my team now.
