So I've got a new Mac, and I want to start playing WL2 on it instead. But how?

I looked through the package but couldn't find the save files. So I just copied the entire package (15gig) onto a portable hard drive, and tried to copy it over.

It copied to the portable drive fine. But when I try to copy it to the new Mac, I get an error message that I couldn't copy all of the file across, and error code "36".

When I click "get info" on the file on the hard disk, it tells me that the sharing permissions are custom, but gives me no apparent way to change that.

I'm using GOG Galaxy, if that matters.

Any ideas?

UPDATE: So looking at the file on my old Mac, I can see that its sharing and permission status is set to "Custom", and gives me the option to change it for various groups of people. But "everyone" has the option to read and write, and no matter what changes I make, it still says that sharing is "custom".

I can't help you with the problem you're having with permissions, but I do know where the W2 save games are kept (at least with the non-Galaxy version):

~/Users/<your user name>/Library/Application Support/Wasteland2

The "Library" folder is a hidden folder by default, how to view it will depend on your particular OS, just google "view library folder mac"
Hm, there's only a "Wasteland" folder, which appears to be my savegame for Wasteland 1.

Still, I'll try it and see if it works. I can copy it across without any permission errors, so that's a good start.
Thank you! That put me on the right path.

The save game was actually in ~Users/<username>/Documents/Library/Application Support/Wasteland2DC.

Why it's saving my savegames in my documents folder is anyone's guess.

Glad I could help :), even though my answer wasn't totally correct in your case. Yes, that's weird that it's saving in the Documents folder, I checked my computer and I don't even have a Library folder inside my Documents folder... I think it must be an error in the WL2DC version and/or GOG Galaxy (I had only installed the original WL2, and I don't use Galaxy).
