Anyone else having this issue? I'm going through and seeing if turning off sound and stuff helps. it is rather annoying right now. Basically it sounds almost like a contentiously skipping record over them music.

Edit: I've turned off all the settings and it is still there. Must be a driver or OS issue on my part.

Haven't played with the music on, but I get this with the moving sound effect, though i'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to sound as i've never played the game before the gog release.

I get it while moving around as well. Doesn't sound like part of the game to me, unfortunately.

I have never experienced that on my computer. I'm using my own version of Wasteland I bought a long time ago when it was new. I can say that a clicking noise when moving around is normal. That's supposed to be your footsteps. Clicking constantly, however, is something else altogether.

I think the popping I hear on my windows xp machine is a loop of the 'walking' sound. I installed it on a windows 7 machine and I realized that it is the walking sound. So something on the other computer is making that sound loop. Kind of odd.

On a related note, I noticed that when using a macro that simulates passing an hour's worth of turns, the burst of walking click sounds seems to be delayed. This is probably due at least partially to buffering in the internal DOSBox emulation. Fortunately, that's the only time I've been able to actually notice a delay.

Got this as well. I work with a part-time computer repairman who spontaneously commented he's familiar with that particular sound, and said it comes from soundcard compatibility trouble.

Might be. I just updated my OS (from windows xp to win 7) so we'll see what happens now. It was easier to find a lot of the drivers and such for my pc with WIn 7.

Edit: That popping sound is still there. Guess I'll just turn down the volume and turn up other music while I play. Not sure what to do outside of that.

It's probably just an emulation issue with the custom DOSBox that they are using to run the original DOS game.

I have this problem too and I am using Windows 7.

yeah I'm not sure what the fix would be. Turning the volume down doesn't help. I have Windows 7 now as well and it still is doing this.

It seems the PC speaker inside my laptop is to blame. Anyone know how to disable the internal PC speaker without opening up the laptop?

Does it happen with headphones? It might be my issue as well.

There should be a pc speaker setting in your sound preferences so you can mute it.
