I have made a functioning downgrade of the game to the version which does not include the fan patch or other patches to the game.

If anyone is interested in this version, I will find a way to share it.
I'm interested, but so people don't get confused, there is no fan patch included in the GOG version.

I assume what you mean is you managed to roll back the unit and hero stats to Darklords Rising 1.0?

Or back to Reign of Heroes 1.0?

This is completely untrue.

The version on GOG has a fan patch applied.

There are a million changes that weren't in the Original Darklords Rising.

The hero's are the worst example. They've all been reworked.

Ogres have 3 hits instead of 2 - there are so many other changes.

HannibalRex is correct. There is no fan patch included in GOG version. Instead, it is the official patch that was released later on. This official patch is responsible for the changes compared to the vanilla version.

I also prefer the vanilla version but it is no GOG's fault that the company itself decided to patch the game.

Yeah, there's absolutely nothing wrong if you prefer the game the way you played it back in the day. But there were only a couple of months between the original release, and the official patch. Of course, if you didn't have internet back then, chances are you never knew that a patch existed.
