Since the previous version of this topic got marked as solved, however there still seem to be a large number of people having this issue, I decided to re-post this as a new topic.

I just bought and downloaded the game, I am running the game on my laptop in windows7 64bit, and I get crashes to desktop about 50% of the time I open the spell book, as well as randomly at other points. It has happened to me now in game, campaign and character creation, though the spell book does seem to be a special trigger.
I have tried many things, including changing the resolutions so they all match, running in different compatibility modes etc... Nothing seems to help.

I do have a really old installer, back from when it worked (1.2.34 I think was the version). However I don't feel comfortable passing this on to anyone. I'd suggest people directed their efforts to getting GOG to make this installer available.

Hmm, this would be more useful if you included your hardware/software/driver configuration. Your best bet, as wpegg already mentioned, would be to contact support.

I know. I should at some point. Right now I really don't have the patience to dig into that (in normalk time I spend ridiculous quantities of time attempting to tweak a solution and testing all kinds of parameters). As it seems a recurring issue, with lots of people mentionning it, I was kinda hoping it'd get eventually solved without involving me... :-/
