So I obviously love this series and over the past few years I've played Battlecry 2 and 3 to death. I don't want to wear them out, but at the same time I would like to play other games that have the same feel, that blend RTS and RPG elements in a similar way.

Specifically, games that are basically RTS, but with a persistent central hero character that carries over in both campaigns and one-off skirmishes. The setting doesn't matter so much (i.e. I don't care if it's fantasy or realistic or futuristic or whatever).

So are there any other games like this? I've looked for a while but I haven't been able to turn up anything.
