wbc 2 started to give me bluescreens and idk why. it gives me atikmdag.sys bluescreen. (i know this belongs to amd gpu driver).
but this error only happens with wbc2, all other games i own work perfectly. reinstalling gpu driver and cleaning the graphic card also didnt help (well since this only happens to wbc2, i assume its not because of driver and dust anyways)
im on windows 7 64 bit and having a r7 250. anyone knows help? the bluescreen crash now happens right after starting wbc2 (it didnt before). what could be the cause?

EDIT: i tested WBC1, too. it gives the same bluescreen error: atikmdag.sys.
only WBC3 is working with windows 7 bit and the newest amd gou drivers.
wbc1 and wbc2 cause blue screen. how was this never noticed or discussed on gog forums?

I have the exact same problem and googled it. It says that "atikmdag.sys" means that a graphic driver from ATI/AMD does not function correctly. That was also my guess because the screen is flickering before the blue screen. Im trying to repair the driver. If you google that problem it will give you a solution on how to do that. Gust google "atikmdag.sys blue screen" and you will find instructions on how to do that. If this will not help .. well than maybe you have to use some old drivers where you know the problem doesn't occur. First i will test to repair the driver ... or configure it correctly so that this problem won't happen ever again. If it works i will update this post.

UPDATE1:

To make things short. I tried many things but only one thing seems to help so far. I used the AMD Cleanup Utility to remove all old (and maybe corrupted) drivers. Then i installed the newest drivers from AMD (February 2020) and tested WBC2 and WBC3. Mostly the game crashed into an blue screen while tabbing in or tabbing out. Sometimes already after Start or even when i tried to close the game via the EXIT button. So far no more Blue Screen issues.

UPDATE2:

Nothing helped. A few days later the same problem occured again. I don't know why or what has changed since then. The atikmdag.sys file seems to be unchanged since the reinstallation of graphic drivers. Maybe using older drivers helps but at this point i don't want to rollback to older drivers since WBC2 and WBC3 are the only games so far to crash into an blue screen. If someone ever finds a solution PLEASE tell us.

Been a while I looked into the forums since last time. I remember contacting the GOG support back then and the reply was something like: The closest GPU they had, was a R9 290 back then, and they told me it isn't crashing on that one.

I assume it was because of drivers (maybe?). I remember, back then support for my R7 250 ended longer ago, and I wasn't able to update my GPU drivers. Today, I have a newer GPU (well, actually an APU) with Windoes 10, with the newest AMD drivers, and the game doesn't crash.

Alternatively, Proton or WineHQ on Linux could work for older Windows games. The advantage of Linux is, that they offer opensource AMD driver for AMD GPUs and APUs, doesn't matter how old they are In combination with Proton and WineHQ, I would go far enough to say, that oldWindows gaming is alot better possible that way, compard to Windows itself.
