I have got the game on steam years ago,the online game experiences are quite intresting, don't know the gog version can play with friends or not.
Honestly, it seems that way. It only says single player, and there's no mention of the nickel and dime DLC's that the anniversary edition has bundled into it. I think they stripped out the multiplayer cause no one wanted to code up a version that was GOG compatible.

I'd say so as well. It would most likely require Galaxy anyway and a lot of people would not like that anyway.
The GOG DRM Cabal does not allow Multiplayer modes - it's DRM - stop asking and get on the hate train already.

what are you on about?
I found it really wierd that the game triggered the Windows firewall, but there is no multiplayer to be seen.

Nah, people only complain about multiplayer when you can only play through third party servers.
I do too. There should allways be a way to play through direct connect or by setting up your own dedicated server.
