I just recently bought this game in the sale and the game has only crashed once for me which is good I guess? But there is another issue making it really difficult to play.

There's a lot of stuttering in the game whenever a tool-tip pops up which is pretty much impossible to avoid and also whenever there are a lot of visual effects on the screen namely smoke and fire. On one mission one of my marines was getting pelted with frag grenades and each explosion slowed the game down more and more until i had to close the process it got so bad.

Has there been a patch to try and get this game running smoothly on modern systems? I saw that they said they were working on one. Or is this pretty much beyond saving.

On a side note it's funny that final liberation which came out a year before chaos gate ran without any issue on my system.
