I love Warcraft 1, but I was disappointed that the Mac version wasn't an option (preferably on Windows). It had better graphics and a better soundtrack. Any chance that is going to be made available, too?
The game has Mac support. Look carefully at the Requirements.

I think he meant the old Mac version in an emulation layer.

Yes, this is what I meant. I saw the Windows version now works on Mac, but I'm hoping for the Mac version on Windows
Unfortunately, it is not likely to be possible for GOG to preconfigure and provide an emulator for the Mac CD version with CD audio.
The only (fully working) emulators need a copy of the Apple firmware for old Mac computers in order for them to function.
Apple prohibits the distribution of that firmware, making it illegal for GOG to provide such a thing without making a deal with Apple.
Apple is not known for making such deals.

The good news is, the GOG release does appear to include a disc image for the final CD release of Warcraft: Orcs and Humans, which includes the Mac version in question.
As such, if a user wanted to go about getting an emulator and the firmware for it, they might be able to run that version of the game on Windows through that emulator.

Providing instructions for the use of the emulator and how to set it up would be okay.
Providing the Apple firmware itself or links to it is prohibited.
I tried to emulate the Mac version of WC1 while ago. As far as I know, there isn't a Mac emulator that runs the game smoothly anyway.
Does the old Mac version have anything special in particular?

I've played this release on both Windows and Mac (more modern OS) and it seems to be the same.

Late reply, but the Mac version has different visuals e.g. different interface fonts in a higher resolution and washed-out pixels because the resolution is blown up. Interestingly, the PC-88 version also uses high-res fonts but otherwise looks like the DOS version.

If you played the game on modern Mac OS, it's probably a port/emulation of the DOS version.
Bin+cue image have HEX info about Apple FS in data track. Still I didn't see any files, at least in some unused way (hex view or something). It all about getting proper image with full WIN+MAC CD release. There is some emulators of old Mac - both for Win and for Mac. Maybe not 100% accurate, but game have speed option for non-fps related slowness.

Pcgamingwiki say that image have MAC data, linked to this forum. I didn't see proof of that here. Can someone approved this?

The disk image in the GOG release indeed includes the Mac version, and I've been able to run it in Executor as I reported here:
https://www.vogons.org/viewtopic.php?p=750190#p750190

I didn't have any performance issues, and previously I ran the Macintosh demo just as smooth, even in the DOS version of Executor via DOSBox.

The problem is, Executor gets the palette completely wrong. I posted some screenshots here a while ago:
https://forum.dune2k.com/topic/26865-warcraft-orcs-humans-mac-version/?do=findComment&comment=396595

But, Executor is now open source and theoretically, these problems could be fixed, provided a competent programmer worked on them.

Executor is the only Mac "emulator" I know of that does not require copyrighted Apple firmware/BIOS ROMs or a copy of MacOS to work. It could even be made into a "wrapper" specifically designed to run the Mac version of Warcraft on Windows, Linux and modern Macintoshes.

Solf-Out Software.

I used DOSBox to get screenshots in the original 256 colour palette so I could fix it.

There's a little quirk with Executor: it briefly displays the screen in the correct palette after you close the About window while in-game. This allows to grab the palette and inject it into garbled screenshots, thus restoring their original look.

This is how I made Mac screenshots for MobyGames:

Well, when I had my mac I had windows on it as well, that was really hard to use macOS use only. It wasn't hard to install Windows on it, but that is a great advantage. Many people do so. Actually This thread reminded me about warcraft 1, so I think I will also install it again to feel the true nostalgia. It was one of the first games I played. Btw I still play warcraft on the official server, and they still make new add-ons, that is great, this game will never die if Blizzard continues changing it. And I believe that Shadowlands add-on will reborn wow and many players will come back to it. So I suggest you to try it too, and if you do not want to spend your time on boosting you shall browse this site and get the best equipment from raid bosses just in one week. I will definitely use it after the release.

I also have a mac on which I installed windows. I'm a fan of the game World of Warcraft, it was important to me that the game works well. The game has now released the Dragonflight update. Because I don’t have much time, so I use one of the best boosting services. The Boostcarry.com team often helps me, I only recommend them.
