Gekko_Dekko: did anybody try to play warcraft2 with wargus, and how does it compare to original?
I play with Wargus and it is great. It has widescreen support and several QoL features such as unit queuing and waypoints. It also provides better graphics with higher resolution support and filters.
In terms of campaign, it is not entirely a one-to-one replica/experience, there are cases where the AI is a bit weaker at certain points (on guerilla missions). Example on Alleria's mission, Human campaign dark portal 1. Where if you hit a group of zombies with a ballista, they don't react (unless a splash damage is dealt) which ending up becoming easier for the player as they can just snipe the mobs one by one.
In all honesty, Wargus just makes everything easier (because of the additional QoL it provides) which makes the game more fun for me. However I do understand that some people do not like this and as such it is better if they just use the launcher that is available on gog.
