kjos: I think there 5 traps you have to find at the beginning of the game than there is a save. Flashing dots in the right hand corner .
ArchmageRashak: Which is way too long. I played like 30 minutes enjoying the views, reaching the dam and entering one of the houses there, after which I had to stop playing. When I started playing again, it had not saved anything.
This game is going to be very long, if I have to play most of it several times due to interruptions (which are numerous around here). Hopefully they will add manual saving or at least make autosaves happen more often, because before they do that, I'm not going to play this. Too much frustration involved at the moment.
That's really off-topic, but since the save game topic is much more immature and posted in all caps, I'll go ahead and reply here.
From a developer post on steam:
How do I save the game?
The auto-save happens after you complete a bigger event like solve a murder scene or experience ...[...]. When the auto-save happens, three animated dots appear in the lower right corner. With the first update, we will be changing this to something maybe a bit less immersive, but much clearer (like "Saving...").

Please bear in mind we are a fairly small (eight people) team with literally one programmer. Of course we will try to fix every single bug possible, and as soon as humanly possible, but feature requests like an option for manual save might be outside of our reach.
They also talked about the camera smoothing option w.r.t. "lag" (so I suppose this corresponds to what SuuperTommy stated above):
There is a lag?
Change the "Camera Smoothing" option in the Controls sub-menu to 0.
