Get the game and the updates much earlier.

If that instant gratification is important to you by all means use steam. GOG.com is pretty fast. If you don't like it, don't use it. I for one don't mind waiting a bit just so I don't have to run steam to run my game.

Getting my games and updates earlier is valuable to me. I don't like waiting around for stuff I could get far earlier elsewhere.

Supporting DRM free gaming is important to me, but I might have to go back to Steam if GOG continues to disappoint me like this. Deadly Premonition still doesn't have the latest updates and it takes GOG a long time to upload the games and updates it does get.

I'm not going anywhere and will continue to buy games on GOG, but I'd definitely like them to release games and updates as soon as they have them, like Steam do.
Sorry for retarded question. I've downloaded the game right after it appeared on GOG, got to the Ethan's Map which I can't interact with. Now I've noticed patches got released but how and from where can I donwload these updates? Do I need to download the whole game again?

You wont need to download the whole thing again. What GOG.com has done in the past once they receive the patches from the developer, is to check them to make sure they work and don't break anything with their version of the game. Then release it as a separate patch. However they will also sometimes update the base installer, so that in the future if you somehow delete or lose your files you only have to re-download the one file. If you use the GOG.com downloader, open that and log into your GOG.com account. It should say at the top if there is an update, or even a forum reply for you.

For any technical questions like the map I'd direct those to the developers or GOG.com support. I'll say this thought, there support team is by far the best I have ever dealt with.

Hope this helps :) Happy Gaming

I'll do that. Thanks for response, I'm completely new to GOG. Cheers. :)

I bought Half-Life 2 on release day and know exactly how bad Steam used to be. It's not that bad anymore though, the only issues I have with Steam right now are the awful customer support and being locked into the platform.

Off-topic: Assuming people are "kids" and using that as a way to dismiss them is really irritating.

I just shared a few issues I have with GOG. Relax.

GOG Galaxy will fix a lot of the problems I have, but until then the problems still exist and are worth mentioning.
