Hey everyone,

I recently bought TVOEC and I'm planning to play it during the next days. Anyhow I also read about the Redux version, and already redeemed it. As far as I understood the Redux Version is supposed to be just the original game but with improved graphics (new Unreal Engine 4, higher res textures). I also read that both the normal and the redux version are sepearate games with seperate installers. When taking a look at my library the Normal Version consists of 3 files having a total size of 5.3GB, where the Redux version is only 2.5GB in size, which seems to make no sense since it is supposed to have higher res textures which inevitably will need more space. Can anyone enlighten me? Is the redux download maybe just a patch for the regular Version and I need to download both (5.3GB + 2.5GB)?

I also assume that the story/content of the normal and redux version are identical, so it makes no sense to play the normal version first and then the redux one?

Cheers norritt
Hi n0rr177,

I'm coming late, but you can find here many informations about the redux version.

Everything has been redone for the UE4 engine, and I suppose some things are better compressed, hence the 2.5 GB. There are been some graphical enhancements here and there, the game saves much much more often, a little gameplay problem some people complained about has been reworked.

However the redux version requires a 64 bit system and at least 6 GB of RAM. If you're on a rather low-end computer, it may be better to stay with the non redux version.

Hi NovHak,

no problem and thank you for the link. Actually it was pretty good timing. Haven't had the time to play the game yet. But I'm just on vacation so TVOEC ist definitly on my ToDo-List for the next days ;)

Okay interesting, still its kind of weird, since higher resolution textures will require a lot more space. Even with better compression it would be already impressive for the improved version to "only" take the same amount of space as the original one - let alone less.

No Hardware shouldn't be a problem, im on an i7 3770k, 32GB RAM and GeForce 980 Ti, so I guess it's going to be the redux version then =)

I just finished playing it and it went fine, no additional download. However I still have the non redux version installed, so you may argue that it uses some files from there, but I doubt it :)

Indeed, and it seems much more than required, I ran it perfectly on my laptop's i7-4710MQ, GTX 880M and 16 GB of RAM, on Ultra except for anti aliasing (deactivated) and motion blur. Maybe I could have activated both but I consider anti aliasing is not worth the overhead and resulting running temperature, and I don't like motion blur :D
I just bough the game, and I see no information regarding the redux edition anywhere, not I have the have the option to check CD-Keys like explained on sticky thread.
Your message is not quite clear... Anyway, you can get the redemption code on the game download page, choose "More actions" then "Serial numbers", there you have the code or a direct link to cut and paste in your browser's address bar. If you only have the code, go there :

https://www.gog.com/redeem

Then put the code in the appropriate field and validate. The redux version will then appear in your game library as a separate game.

EDIT : OK, I see you finally updated your status as resolved on the sticky thread, all's well that ends well !
