Just a word of caution, I found that I was able to get to the end and found I only had 1 puzzle left unsolved, the doors one. So I went back and did it. I couldn't do it all in one sitting so I thought "I'll do the doors one tomorrow" Well that was a big mistake thanks to the save system (facepalm).

I found when I went back to the end, the game was unfinishable. I went back to check if zome puzzles had to be redone but nope. So I am stuck, in the very last part but unable to get into the "last room", (trying to make this vague so only people that know where the ending is will understand).

I don't particularly feel like starting all over. Sure it won't take me as long but I'm not inclined to do that.

So how do you avoid this problem ? I am only guessing but I'd say do the puzzles in order, I won't list them here as it be spoilers. I could start a spoiler thread but I don't know if the GOG community wants this so I thought I'd side with caution instead. :)

Well I got stuck right before the end too. I didn't miss anything (double checked with 2 different YT walkthroughs) still the map drawing on the wall doesn't work for me. I simply can't interact with it and the save game system is pointing finger at me laughing. I might try to start from the beginning if it is fixed with the updates. I think it is possible to run through all the content in about 2 hours. The short game lenght turns into an advantage in this case i guess. :)

I kept thinking what if I did not quit then that last room would still be open and I am sure the map would be complete. At least you can still get into the room. Would be interesting to see when you restore and you go back to the underground room if the back room is indeed still open. I can't seem to be able to open it again so there I am stuck :(

I agree I could try it all again but I am not incluned to at this point in time. Let me know how you go though. We really need manual save. The way it is now we can't even start afresh without deleting our previous sadly :( Need some save slots.
For me worked the following: Touch the body of grandpa. Go back to main menu (Exit) and continue. Then the room will be open again.

P.S.: As adventurer I think the bugs may be an extra-bonus :-).

The update fixed my problem with the map. But I think I'm gonna play this game again, just to watch the landscapes. :)

Thank you for that. If the patch does not work I'll try your way. I will have to rebind keys though as they are lost on every load.

:)
Patch fixed all problems bar the key rebind that is still lost at every load. Still, no matter, it's no biggie. The game works now and the save system is improved.

The end sequence works so now I have finished the game. I adored it.
Would like to start it over but I don't want to lose my save so I guess I can't as I'm pretty sure start new game will wipe what I have already.
