Hello,

It's been some time I wanted to try these games, now with the fair price I bought the Final Cut... One question though...

There are 4 Van Helsing games in my library : obviously the 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but the Final Cut is present too, with several GigaBytes to download.

So how should I do ? Download each Van Helsing games PLUS the Final Cut, or does the Final Cut regroup ALL the 3 Van Helsing games ?? If I add the 3 games there is far more GB to download than the GB of the final cut...

I have a poor internet connexion, so I don't want to spend hours to download GB for nothing...
And a last question, maybe idiot one, the textures DLCs add ONLY textures right, not other functionalities ? My computer is a one year-old laptop, so I don't care about nicer textures but I don't want to miss a gameplay feature... And if I can avoid downloading more GB, I could play these games far sooner !

Thanks in advance !

I'd go straight to final cut.
It has the content of the first 3 games with better character types/skills to play them.

Ah, glad to hear, I was wondering because of the "little" amount of data to download compare to the 3 games individually, but I prefer that way !
Thanks for your answer
I was wondering the same thing....so I don't really need to keep my installs for Van Helsing 1, 2, and 3 around? I can just keep/play Final Cut and that'll basically give me the same content as 1 + 2 + 3? The games are fairly large and storage is crazy expensive so...

Yes, unless you prefer the way the Skill trees etc work in the individual games you can just play the Final Cut.

Thank you! I guess I'll just keep the original downloads since I already downloaded them, but that's good to know.

I avoided playing the originals for exactly this reason. I bought them on the promise that they will deliver final cut, but I didn't install them to avoid all the "omg they nerfed my favourite skill/class" drama (and the additional GBs of downloads too, with indidivual games you have to download lots of assets three times, while they are shared in FC). Having jumped straight to FC, the skill trees work for me. Even phlogistioneer, generally considered to be underpowered from what I read online. For SP campain he works good enough.

I only wish that they didn't add offline mode as an afterthought. As it is now, it's all or nothing. Both cloud saves + online features, or strictly offline. No shared stash, not even shared preferences or keybindings between the two modes. It's just as if you installed the game on clean computer when you switch. That was pretty negative surprise, as both competing contemporary ARPGs (Grim Dawn and Victor Vran) allow you to take your char online whenever you feel like it.

Yeah, not having everything available between the modes was really strange.
I never played the individual games but at the moment I am playing FC. After a while I compered the FC version with part 1 of the original release and there is at least one dialogue completeley missing in the FC I noticed. At the beginning of the game (before even arriving at the town) after you had to chase a dwarf-y creature when you cross a bridge there is a dialogue between VH and Katharina but only in the original release. Don't know however if this missing dialogue was a bug or intended. Anyway I contacted the devs and told them.

So, only take the original VH1, it has the best classes.
