Hey there.

Any ideas on how I can get the brightness to work with this game? I have tried the Compatability Administrator as suggested in another thread but it doesn't seem to change anything. The Brightness slider does nothing in-game and the game is very dark, too dark to play. I'd like to record videos of the game and what not as well so I don't just want to jack up the brightness on my monitor since thta doesn't really solve the issue.

Any ideas? Tried the usual stuff like running as admin, many different compatability modes and what not. Thanks in advance.

Yep! 20 hours in and I realized that darkness is actually a feature to be considered in the game itself. Currently using a higher level Eyes of the Beast, however, in the Haus De Hexe at least, it doesn't seem all that bright. A torch seems a bit better but I am using Christof as party leader with a 2H sword. Anyway, thanks for the response. Good stuff.

It's due to Windows 8 and beyond virtualizing directdraw. There have been some solutions posted in other threads previously, however none of them worked for me. A few of us in the community have attempted to make various dxwrappers to work, but unfortunately none work for Redemption. It was the wild west in those days, and the dx7 dll files used in Redemption are custom. The only thing that works for me is adjusting brightness in my gpu graphics settings while playing.
