Now that it's out, gog might as well re-patch the game, they started with 9.5 and updated the game with 9.6 the second time.

They usually wait for the final version...

If 9.7 were the final update, might as well call it...You done so much work for the unofficial basic and plus version, unless you going to add more stuff to fix. Because I already beaten the game the 9.5 version without any glitches or minor issues sticking out like a sore thumb. By the way, back when people are complaining about the pisha side mission of regarding the camera dude being stuck in one area and refusing to go to the elevator, THAT glitch can most likely occur if the players go into the skyline apartment before starting Necromantic or do any side mission related that has to do with the skyline apartment, which is best to do pisha's missions first before entering the tenant and once again before doing any side quests. Just letting you know whether it could be fix or not, but I did spot the issue. The Dexterity in the character creation can be a bit buggy I think, when I added some exp, there the Dexterity increased, but no points where added on sneak and lockpick

WESP!!!!

You are MAGNIFICENT!

Long time fan: recently just wandered back onto the GoG scene and was overjoyed to find Vtm:B with the Unofficial Patch here.

You are truly doing The Father's work sir!
A new second beta of 9.7 has been released and can be downloaded from The Patches Scrolls. Beside recompilation of all new maps with the updated SDK which might change the lighting a bit, only very minor issues have been fixed except for:

Made Santa Monica blueblood return after Domination, thanks Malkav.
Corrected and improved Linux Wine loader script, thanks Wrzlprmft.
Disabled low poly model LOD in engine.dll, thanks Drog Black Tooth.
Fixed weird camera after endgame Cabbie discussion and a cut line.
Thanks as always, wesp5. :)
Beta 3 is out, no major changes! Get it here: http://www.patches-scrolls.de/patch/4647/7/74109
Thank you. It's great to see this game still getting so much attention after so many years.
Here, have a blood bag I pilfered from work (Red Cross)!

(Alright, so it was a joke and I would not steal blood in reality)

Great job as always Wesp5 :D
I am definitely looking forward to the game being updated (i.e. to 9.7):

Is there a way to "encourage" GOG to do this?

P.S. The entry for VtM:B in my Library still reads "Read to install - English - 1.2 (UP 9.6 Basic)". Honest.

GOG usually updated the patch, once the final is out. We are still in beta...

Ah! I should have guessed. I hope it's "going to plan"!
