wesp5: That hasn't been fixed yet and I don't think it can be fixed like for the TV. The former are just audio loops, the latter is spoken by a real NPC on the map.
Well when you say it this way it only comes as a possible solution - put an invisible NPC somewhere to say the lines instead of triggered vanilla audio loops. Isn't this doable?

I don't know, I will think about it...
Sort of related but not really, would anyone know a way to install VtMB so that Galaxy doesn't recognize it? I'm kind of afraid GOG will eventually update the unofficial patch part of their package while I update mine, accidentally breaking things since I use plus.

I've got the game set to manual updates for now, but knowing me I might make a whoopsie and press the update button. :P.

You can turn off automatic updates for this game in Galaxy. Or, if you want to make it completely 'invisible' for client, remove 'goggame-###.info' file from game folder and restart galaxy

Thanks, I didn't know that! And the latter works!

I see that the gog installer is embedded with the 9.5 patch.
Will the gog installer be updated to the current 9.6 patch and consequently with future patches (9.7 ... 10 ... etc)?
Hey Wesp! The guys at GameFAQs are worried about you because you forgot to post about 9.6 over there. I'm sorry to do this here, but I couldn't figure out how to send a private message.

I hope so.

Can you please post it there? I can only monitor so many boards and there wasn't much going on there anymore...

Maybe next week. But in general - it should unless I will be told a definitive 'no' for some reason.
Edit: ...once it's final 9.6 of course ;)

Thanks to both of you, very nice to hear good news ;)
Hmm, I couldn't find the added bathroom door at the SM haven.
Then again, I had to manually bind attack and discipline action, and had to add fists.

I did try a couple of clean starts and reinstall... is this because I'm a filthy Linux peasant?

Well yeah, that's what I did, I installed the 9.6 Plus on top of the GoG version in Wine.
Am I not supposed to do it? That would explain a few things :D

But yeah, I'm just wondering if these issues are common to Wine.
Hello Wesp,

I find all the doors in the game opening terribly slow. Considering how fast your character moves there are good chances that you have bumped in the doors that are yet to be opened because it is such annoyance to wait till they open fully. Bumping in the doors that are not yet fully open will result in cancellation of the opening process and the doors will start to close and eventually you may get stuck between them.

Long story short the speed of door opening needs to be fixed. Here's how:
Replace all strings "speed" "100" with "speed" "300" for all files under map folder.
This should replace something over 1100 occurrences including few elevator entities which need to be reverted back to "speed" "100". Here's the list of files containing those affected "classname" "func_elevator":
ch_dragon_1.bsp
la_empire_1.bsp
sm_oceanhouse_2.bsp
sp_tutorial_1.bsp

As a side effect of this fix also another buggy behavior is fixed and that is Stan Gimble's "moonwalking" while waiting for the door to open after his introduction. As the opening animation takes 3x less time Stan will make 3x less steps in the air minimizing the odd effect to acceptable level.

Speaking of Stan Gimble I always found his thug combat taunts very disturbing. Lip floating text displays "Die mothefucker!" if very low pitched and other thug taunts which are very disproportional to how high-pitched voice he had in the entrance hall. This is due to npc_VHumanCombatant classname in sm_basement_1.bsp map file. I have experimented and replaced the classname with npc_VVampire which does not produce such thuggish taunts. Testing through several combats styles in this boss fight I could not find any issue with this replacement. Worth considering for future patch update.

I am thinking about an attempt to implement invisible NPC radio that will work similarly as TV newscaster in terms of floating text. We've discussed this previously.

Wesp, by which means do you prefer to receive reports of bugs or possible enhancements of UP?
