For the love of god I can't beat her. I can't even come close to it. My character is a Gangrel that is pretty much completely melee focused and that has gone really poorly on this fight. I've taken the suggestion of a friend and went back for the flamethrower before fighting her. I went through the trouble of loading a slightly earlier save and picking it up and than going back for another try at ming. It did far far far less damage than I was told it would. Most likely because I have put no points into firearms. I have no blood packs, no ammo, no weapons. I got through the entire game with no issue being melee focused and buying no items and just fighting with my fists.

Sadly fighting with my fists has gone real bad against ming. At time I cut off a tentacle and have to rush to finish it off. Not to mention if I get hit once I lose a large amount of life in comparison to what I do in return. I've been able to get her to about half life playing the best I can, that includes damage from the flamethrower.

What do I do? What can I do? Normally I enjoy a challenge but I feel as though my character with how he has been built and my lack of weapons doesn't really have a chance.

Oh yeah, that's a tough fight the first time you play the game because you're not prepared for it. It frustrated me too, so don't think you're alone.

With no blood packs or anything it's going to be a challenge.

Here's the best strategic advice I can give you: focus exclusively on Ming Xiao, and ignore the little tentacle babies. They're just distractions. Use the flamethrower until the fuel is all gone, then just keep whacking away at the bitch while keeping away from her big tentacle slam as much as you can. Ignore everything else, because killing her as fast as possible is the whole bag of marbles.

With War Form and buffs you should be able to pull it off.

I've been trying for about three weeks and haven't made any progress. I've ignored tentacles, hell I've consistently gotten her to half life without chopping any off but I've been unable to do any better. My character has points in the most frivolous and pointless things so believe me when I say when I get hit it takes a good chunk of life and I don't do much in return at all. I've run around her meleeing her for awhile but it just goes on forever and ultimately ends in defeat for me. I think I will just give up on the game. Thank you for the advice though.

Ouch. That's rough. One thing I always tell new players is that you will have to fight sooner or later, so don't ignore your combat skills. A little late for that at this point though

The way I see it, and unless someone else has a better idea, you have two options: you can either use the console and give yourself some more character points so make the fight winnable, or you can start over with a new character and be more prepared the next time you get to MX.

I recommend using the console method. Ming-Xiao is very close to the end of the game, so it would be a shame to miss the ending just because you can't get past her.
Why not buy some blood packs before starting the fight?

If you do use the console, you could give yourself some blood packs.

Sadly I had about just enough money to buy the flamethrower when I loaded a previous save. What did I do with my money? I'm not really sure. I did use prostitutes a lot, and I mean a lot. Sadly you cant sleep with them. That was disappointing.

This may sound weird, but my sense of self respect wont allow me to cheat in a video game. So using the console is out of the question. My only real choice is to somehow make my current setup work or load back to a far earlier save which I just don't feel like doing.

Well hey, it's your choice and I accept that.

I would say that leaves you with two options: keep trying or give up. If you're done trying, I would suggest restarting with a new character. Some of the other clans play very differently from Gangrel (particularly Nosferatu, Malkavian, and Tremere), so you could have a very interesting replay and see a lot of things you missed the first time. Like I said, now that you know what to expect from the MX fight, you can prepare ahead of time and you should be able to beat it without too much trouble.

To be honest, everyone should play through the game at least once as a Malkavian anyway. If you don't try it you're missing out. I'll give you one hint about it - make sure you watch television regularly.

Went thru the same thing - my first ever was a Nossie who just couldn't beat Ming. Now, when I play, no matter my build, I make sure I have an auto-shotgun, a flame thrower (which you can get free), some other automatic rifle, and the Desert Eagle. I shoot until I need a reload, run to the other side while reloading, and continue as needed

What did you end up doing? Did you ever beat MX, or did you start over?
Is there a way to prevent her from knocking you over? I'm a melee Grengal for my first play through and although I can tank the damage she dishes out, she always knocks me over with a charge attack after 2 melee hits. Using the katana that does extra aggravated damage with blood buff and fortitude (lvl 3) I deal ~30 damage a hit but she continually knocks me over which is annoying. I gave a try at firearms since I have a 5 or 6 in ranged but it didn't do anywhere near enough damage so I ended up taking more damage because of how much longer the fight took.

This isn't actually difficult as much as it's annoying; She's a damage sponge that continually knocks me over to prevent me from sending her to the cleaners and then my character spends 5-10 seconds on the ground before the whole thing repeats. I actually got knocked over immediately upon getting up once or twice. Would've been nice if there was an actual dodge option (like a roll) but so far this is turning out to be almost as bad as the ridiculous werewolf fight.
You do know that for that "ridiculous werewolf fight", you don't have to actually fight hm?

DDDespair: ...the ridiculous werewolf fight.
Yeah, you're not really supposed to fight the werewolf. You're supposed to run away from it.

As for MX, avoiding her knockdown requires that you keep moving in a circle around her so she's not facing you. Get behind her and whack away until she turns toward you, then get behind her again. If you just stand in one place and try to brute-force through the whole fight you'll probably have a bad time.

Emptying all your ammo from the AUG and the flamethrower should put a nice dent in her to begin with.

Sure. But making it nigh invulnerable and allowing it to pretty much clip through walls wasn't the best idea. Besides you do get xp for killing it.
The werewolf can be beat without fighting it...... and you get the xp points....
