I wanted to make a few LAN games just to kill some free time. However, when I get to the point where I click 'create game' I click and it plays the click sound. Then nothing happens. I can click 'log out' or any of the other re-directing buttons and those will work properly.

I have not tested joining LAN games as I do not have friends who play.

At this point I should note that I am running the wineskin port for vampire, from the porting team, on my MacBook Pro. I'm not sure if this is a problem with the port or the game itself. If any members are using the same port and learned of any work arounds, I'm all ears. If its just a problem with the game and there are any fixes I'm willing to try those too.

I'm not an expert on networking, but I think you can both use Hamachi, there is a version for MAC now. Tunngle isn't as buggy as Hamachi, but not available for MAC yet. Even though you may be on the same network, you might want to test this as an alternative.
The problem I'm experiencing I guess isn't so much a network problem. Even if I couldn't connect properly shouldn't I still be able to create a game with only myself as the sole player?
Yes you should. I've encountered this only on much older systems in the past back when I was switching between 56k and LAN cards in both the legacy and pci ports. Something in the network configuration seems to trigger this problem. At the time, my skills in computers were very dull so I had no understanding of why the crash at MP game creation occurred. Is your environment detecting a generic LAN device or something else? Having no LAN device can also cause MP game creation to crash. You might want to look into any virtual network settings your environment is using as that could piss the game off if done wrong. I just can't give you the specifics as I'm still a bit rusty at networking myself.

Honestly, I couldn't really follow any of that. I know virtually nothing about networking. If I take a few hours I might be able to figure it out a little better, and come up with an answer?

-------edit-------

Also I tried using hamachi to create a network and attempt to create a lan game. I experienced the same issues as before.

I'm pretty sure this happened to me a few years ago. went round and round for months trying to get MP to work with Hamachi. A fix was found through a ST who had (possibly still) runs games. I ultimately wasn't able to play anyway because I have satellite I-net. Sorry I can't remember what he did - I doubt I still have any of the correspondence but I think we are still "friends" on "Messenger". Maybe I can find out something.

If you can find anything out please let me know. I don't have much of an interest in actually participating in multiplayer, I would really enjoy playing around with the story teller, though. So its really a non-issue if I can't play with others.
