Hi guys,
I used to play this game on my older computer as I had bought it ages ago but it was late enough that it was already updated to 1.1.
I have recently since bought a MUCH more powerful and updated computer and the game obviously runs even better HOWEVER...
When I used to play it years ago I would typically school the first boss of the game(I can't remember her name but the one at the end of the caves.) I would wreck her with all of my Holy Water and then finish her off with my sword, sometimes as quick as 10-20 seconds.

I have recently installed it again and started playing on my newer computer and it seemed to play the same but when I reached this same first boss I was just BARELY able to make it past her! I mean I unloaded every holy water onto her and just kept wailing away at her but she just kept healing herself A LOT and it took a few minutes and every single one of my healing potions!

Now before it may have taken a try or two but never this GRINDING a battle, I would typically die because I was lazy and didn't heal in time.
What gives? Is it possible the AI is a little quicker because of my faster machine or is it a fluke? I have never died this much before...
Any ideas? Thanks

PS this is installed off of the CD from way back when it was sold, though the version says that it is 1.1 patched regardless.

I sometimes wonder if the AI is subject to die rolls - I've had this happen too but on the same machine. In a future battle, she may be easy again. I always assumed it must be me but perhaps not.
Yeah, its really strange. The more I have played throught the game I am wondering what is up because it seems to be the case with every enemy now!
The first two guys I ran into in the Nod Fragment mission actually killed me as well. I used to just cut through this level with no real difficulty. Its like suddendly my hits come few and far and the enemy's strikes are hitting much more frequently and are devestating.
I really need to just keep playing to see if it is still a fluke but it was frustrating me so much I quit for awhile. Its hardly enjoyable when the lesser minions are suddenly schooling you...lol

Are you by chance talking about the (memory fart) - her fan boys that are mad at you for sending their boss to final death (re something or other. They're (three of them in Prague) generally easy but sometimes they turn into superman clones.
Lol actually no I mean after that in the Monastery however I know exactly who you mean. This most recent time of playing it took me about 5 or 6 tries to take those guys out and I had to kinda cheat by running away and then approaching them slowly one by one, which I NEVER had to do before...I mean they could be a pain like you said sometimes but never THIS tough.
I am wondering if it is because I am playing it in Windows 7 and before I would always play it in Windows XP on my old computer. I mean its a stretch but maybe for some reason it screws with the AI. It definitely seems like it takes forever for me to connect with my hits and the enemies strikes hit hard and often..

Another guess is computer speed as the newer computers run old games much faster then they were designed for. I once had to make a dual core run like a single to play Bloodlines (which is newer).
I thought it was me! Actually, I have had the same trouble on the same computer, so I think they just spawn at wildly different levels. The first time I went at the Nazra (or whatever her name is), I got creamed about 7 times. Then I went in expecting another huge battle and butt kicking and killed her so fast I didn't realize she was dead.

I've run into the same issue with the fan boys, the nod fragment bosses and a few others - one reload they are impossible, the next they are easy. So I think it's just the game.
