I think this game is pretty good so far, but I'm to an early boss fight and I'm getting totally destroyed trying to get the real time combat to work. This game needs a pause command, does it have one?

Spacebar?

It has one! It's the Pause/Break key. Once you pause, you can issue commands to your coterie.
Spacebar cancels commands.

Pause and Free Save where added with Patch 1.1
Before this, you could only save within your cript, and autosave was performed every time you travelled to a new sector
While the addition of the Pause was very use- and helpful, I personally dislike the free save, as it makes the spell to return to your cript almost useless

Any idea which key to use on a Mac keyboard ??
As for the "Walk the Abyss" spell - I agree that visiting the Ank was a key element in that, but I'll still say that for tossing things into your vault, stocking up on blood, spending XP and buying new equipment that your new stats from the above spent xp allows are pretty good bonuses to take from that spell ;-)

There is also a "pause" console command, though it takes a little longer than hitting a key. Which boss are you fighting? Mercurio always seems to be hard the first playthrough.

Which key is that? I tried everything and still cannot pause.
Esc pauses but it displays the menu as well so I cannot manage my team.
I remember I used active pause back in a days & but i struggle with that right now.

On a standard US keyboard, the pause/break key is usually at the end of F# row, with Print Screen and Scroll Lock. It's probably in the same place on Polish keyboard, but I'm not positive.

You're right. I found that. It's very annoying though, cause while playing on my laptop, I have to use FN+INSERT combination.

Do you have a gaming keyboard? If so, you can likely program those two strokes into a single one of your choice.

Unfortunately i don't, but thanks for the tip. I somehow manage to play & have fun so far, so I hope it won't change in the later [much harder I presume] part of the game.
BTW. It's really decent game, despite many technical issues.
