DirectPlay installation can be interfered with by your antivirus. Avast in my case prevented this legacy component from being installed. For those with this error, try disabling your antivirus for a few minutes while you enable this windows component.

For those who wish to enable directplay directly:

Right click on the windows Icon
Select "Control Panel"
Select "Programs and Features"
In the upper left corner choose "Turn Windows Features on and off"
Scroll down until you see "Legacy components"
Open this box and you can click a checkmark to enable directplay.

Thank you! I was wondering why I couldn't enable the Legacy DirectPlay feature. Temporarily disabling Avast shields was enough to let it be turned on.

Clever solution, since the installation seems to contain infested files. Now you don't have to worry about viruses never again - they will switch your antivirus for you the next time!

My post is in relation to the Windows 10 legacy components options, not the Uprising installer. Windows' own DirectPlay legacy component won't contain viruses as it is part of Windows that you enable from the Control Panel as stoner6 described.
