Yesterday and today I noticed that when I search for certain people, it will often skip the name I typed in and go onto someone else. I'm not really far enough in to experiment with anything beyond the Academic Databases (such as the social security/criminal database, where I often have less than 30 seconds so far - not enough time to do any real experimentation). I was wondering if this was something in the game that you have to work around, or if it's an error with the game?

I've also noticed - after being caught and having my accounts suspended a few times (in game, of course) that the information about the companies stays the same (i.e. completly remove a companies files, the files staying gone with a new hacker account), but I'll occasionally get jobs for them (so, did get asked to copy some file from a company I had previously destryoed completly, so wasn't able to).
Is this just a thing in the game? I like the idea of multiple hacker accounts all working 'in tandem' with each other, but wasn't sure.

Also, my brother believed that in this game you could hack security cameras and the like. I'm not sure though. Is it possible to?

Any help would be much appreciated.

As to the databases, this is likely happening because you misspelled the name of the person you are looking for (you would be surprised as to how easily this can happen, especially if you are playing on a higher resolution, which makes all the text smaller). Security cameras are not present in this game at all; the game does mention something about security cameras being a possible security measure you can install for certain rigs, but this is likely either flavor text or left over from an earlier version of the game in which they were supposed to be included.

I have also had the same thing happen to me with regards to being ordered to do something that has been rendered impossible; my guess is either that the game randomly pulls this on you to give you the illusion that other hackers are operating at the same time you are, or it is in fact something that you did in an earlier profile. Not really sure what the deal is, but it can get annoying if it results in you having to cancel the mission and resulting in a drop in your rating.
Sorry for the late reply, forgot about gaming as real life came up.
90% sure I didn't spell the name. Retyped the name a few times, but I'd have thought it would either go to the misspelled name, or say that the person couldn't be found, rather than going to some random person, no?

If you misspell a name, the database will either stop on a name that you have spelled out by accident or stop on the final entry of the database; basically it goes entry by entry until it gets a hit or gets to the end.
