So what do you guys think of Unreal Tournament 3

It would be nice to add it to GOG to complete the series, but how does it compare to 2004 or 1999?

I dunno I was kind of disappointed in it. By itself it's a decent game but I just don't know if it's really worthy of taking up the mantel.

Anyway, what are your thoughts?

well i played it a reasonable amount. My expectations were fairly low because UT2004 just never lived upto UT99 for me.

I think UT3 would of been better if they had gone closer to 99 and hadn't gone in the middle of 99 and 04.

Also the look was just i dunno a bit bland and not distinct enough and too much gears of war like. Oh and the single player "campaign" was a bit silly they should of just stuck to the whole tournament/arena idea instead of string together a whole lot of games with a few cutscenes and some story stuff.

In general i enjoyed it but its not UT99 afterall if it doesnt have proper assault its not proper UT (this goes for 04 as well).

Yeah I have to agree with that.

At UT3 release I too was some disappointed, and prefered UT99.
But with the patches and added game mods, UT3 went up to the fun of UT99.
And with the computers getting better, I think now UT3 (which had already a good engine) is at last overall a slightly better game than UT99.

I dont think I could ever consider UT3 better then UT99 even with the titan pack for UT3 and patch 2.1 i think it is

UT3 may have a more advanced engine then UT99 but the things I dislike about UT3 just havent been fixed unless there is some community patch that fixes everything I don't know about.
