Is there a single player campaign? Or is this a MP game. I'm a old man taking up gaming. I'm trying to get a feel for games. One thing I have found is older games have more....Care in the making it seems.

Unreal Tournament has a single player mode, but it's just a sequence of matches with bots until you win a championship in the tournament. Multiplayer was the focus of the game's design, but even games with bots can be a lot of fun in my opinion. You can just select any game type and difficulty you want and enjoy. Having other people to play with is the best option of course.

As Tuthrick said, Unreal Tournament's singleplayer is a glorified series of matches against bots. If you want a "classic" singleplayer campaign in this series, get Unreal Gold instead.

Honestly UT2004 and UT3 has better campaign than UT99. There is more options to interact with the story or let's just call it "flow" since the story is literally about fragging in a tournament. UT3 even has a coop option for the campaign which I used to play with my wife.
