Hey Guys!

Is there any tutorial how to set up private server in UT'99 without installing additional programs, patches etc?
I want to play with non-GOG friends, but they can't find my server name - I tried to set up dedicated server in game as same as standard one and they can't find it on the server list. I can see the server in LAN-Games at nothing more.

Is there any solution?

Did you check if UT is in the exception lists on your firewalls and antivirus programs?

Just start a server from the in-game option, and your friend can connect with the "open ###.###.###.###" command directly. The "#" stands for the IP address. It works nearily the same way as in UT2004.

I tried it but when someone put in "Find Location" IP adress there's black window with "Connecting" and "press ESC to begin" and "Press f10 to cancel" - then when ESC is pressed the game back to main menu.

We can play on someones server, but - you know - it's not the same thing which we expect ;)

If you can't connect to a server directly, then the server is blocked. As Plokite_Wolf said, probably the firewall or anti-virus not letting the client connect to the server. Just allow the connection and it will work. :)

I've tried it, allow for connection in Windows and anti-virus, but no one can join. Is there any difference between standard or dedicated server? Made both of them but nothing works ;/ or maybe im doing something wrong with "allow-to-connection" things?

Generally, the dedicated server go through their official matchmaking service or whatever they call it, enabling the server to appear on every browser regardless of location and protocoll. Connection-wise there is no difference however, if one works the other should too.

Honestly I don't know how to host a server behind a router. You may ask someone to help through TeamSpeak or something. I'm sure you do everything right, just something block the connection.
