Not to be impatient, but any progress? I'm kind of a newbie at linux. I love UT and really don't like using WINE unless I have to. Thanks

Hey, sorry :D

TBH I haven't started yet as I was busy with life and things, I'll get to it tomorrow, should have it ready by the evening :-)

EDIT: I hate WINE too, especially when there's a native version, rest assured Unreal justice will be done.

On Debian, I had to install libc6 2.15 to run the 64 bits binary. But to do so, I had to enable the sid depot in the apt/sources.list. :/ The problem was my system had the 2.13 version, but wouldn't upgrade it unless I explicitely said I wanted the unstable distribution.

I know it's really Debian's fault, but that's annoying. Is there some way you could embed it to the package ?

Other than that, thank you very much for this ! It's really a shame that GOG does not have the Linux version directly here, since it exists. :/

EDIT : I have a friend who complained about being forced to use PulseAudio with this. Is there a way to use Alsa instead ?
EDIT2 : OK, that's fine. Apparently it wasn't mandatory, he was able to compile it without actually activating it or something. And the sound still comes out with Alsa, so... Good.
EDIT3 : I'm playing UT2004 in ArchLinux, without PulseAudio being even installed. I really don't know what he was talking about, it works fine. So, in the end, just thank you for the package. o/

Hello sorry for the late reply, I normally don't get a notification unless quoted. I can upload a special patch with the required library for Debian.

Can you please tell me which version of Debian are you using? Thanks :-)

Sorry for the really late replay as well, it's been a long time since I checked my account. I was using Debian 7, though I don't remember he exact version number, sorry. >< Since then I "moved" to ArchLinux, and it worked without having to install anything. I have no idea if the library is included in Debian 8 released last month.

Ganni1987:
Hi!
First of all, thank you for your great work on this Linux setup, it works flawlessly on my Debian Sid amd64.

I noticed you included all of the Megapack in your archive, which make it quite a big download. But a lot of these files are unnecessary seeing as most of them are already included in the GOG version of UT 2004 (maybe it was not the case when you built your archives?).
Without all of these duplicate files your archives would be something like ~15MB each, which is quite a jump from the actual ~150MB ;)

I can send you these "light" archives, or give you the list of the really needed files in them, depending on which way you prefer.

Hey :-)

If you can send me the smaller patches that would be great. Thanks, very much appreciated. If you want you can upload them to my ftp server here: ftp://88.203.14.106/pub/software/ (it doesn't require a password, you can just log as anonymous).
Okay, just give me some time to double-check them and I’ll send them on your FTP.
