Hey. I have been trying to connect to Unreal Gold's multiplayer, and so far, the master server seems to time out on the connect or doesn't bring anything up. My internet connection should be okay (its high speed) but I have had problems with it in the past, so it could very well be that. But I was wondering if there was any other cause for the problem? anyone have any ideas? did I miss something?

I just got a huge list of servers, so it's not a master server issue (or if it was, it's been resolved now).
It sounds to me like your firewall is blocking it. You'll need to add an exception for it to allow Unreal to access the internet.
Also make sure you've selected the "All Servers" tab in the server browser, and not "Favourite Servers" or something.

Well I am getting servers now, but It still wont let me connect to any games. My firewall is turned off, so I dont see how that could be an issue. I have a different internet connection that is much more reliable, but that doesnt seem to have anything to do with it, as I am having troubles with other multiplayer games like Sacred Gold also. Im gonna fiddle with it some more, thanks though.

If you use a router you may want to check its firewall. If its multiple games you may need to forwards some ports for those games.

A port is basically an ID number for a network connection, so when your computer receives data, it knows which program to give it to.
As for setting it up, the exact procedure differs between routers, but this may be of some assistance. Look up your router (skip the big obnoxious advertisement), and find Unreal Tournament. As far as I know, Unreal and Unreal Tournament use the same ports, so the instructions for UT should work for Unreal.
